If the display on the external monitor is fine, there's nothing wrong with the display (video) adapter on the laptop. In that case you have a problem with something to do with the LCD display
See Response 1, 2, 4 and 5 in this:

You probably have the resoltion set wrong. See response 5 in that.
"The words which are white or with other color sometimes changes color usually pink or purple."
The most likely thing is the backlight is in the process of failing. It eventually burns out, the same as other florescent buls do
