So many PSU's now have dual fans. Are these designed for a case/tower with a fan "exhaust" hole on the top? My case does not have a hole on the top and it does not seem wise to expell hot air into the case, to heat up the CPU, HDD, etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Wally

I agree. I think any power supply fans inside a case should be blowing into the power supply and blowing out the rear.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!!!

Most dual fan PSUs have one fan on the underside, just above the CPU...that one should blow air into the PSU. The other fan is on the backside, blowing the warm air out of the PSU. Together the fans help to exhaust warm air out of the case & help cool the CPU. AMD does NOT recommend a PSU that has one fan in the front & one in the back.

Check the AMD Builder's Guide:
