Ok, i have a question, i have this PSU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...

And this mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...

and now my question: the PSU have two 4 pin CPU connector(so basically its 8, but cut in half), and my mobo has an 8 pin slot, do i just plug in both of the 4 pin connect into the mobo. I figured this seeing that the plugs say "CPU1" and "CPU2".

and ive noticed that the plug pin shapes dont match the ones on the board, like the board has a square and the plug looks like a square with the corners cut off. is this ok?

No! You either need a different PSU or you need some sort of adapter to convert to the 8-pin CPU plug.

EDIT: I just read that some people have had success plugging the square 4-pin plug into the 8-pin connector without using an adapter.

Your mobo has an 8 pin CPU power connector, so you should plug in both 4 pin connectors joined together. I'm not sure about "the plug pin shapes dont match the ones on the board." They should fit, but if they don't, you obviously don't want to force anything.

kx5m2g, the both of the plugs go in with no hassle.

ps. ive been running this system for a few weeks now without a problem, i was just making sure, not that my pc goes up in smoke.

here is the website for the PSU, click on the image with all the plugs, and you'll see it says "4/8 Pin CPU".

so if anyone else can spread there knowledge in this matter, please do.

The psu has a 4 pin option for motherboards with only a 4 pin CPU power connector. Since your motherboard has an 8 pin CPU power connector, there shouldn't be a problem plugging in all 8-I don't see why you need an adapter.

I didn't look at the PSU specs & wasn't aware that the board was already up & running. I mistakely thought he was asking about using two 4-pin molex plugs. I guess I've gotta pay closer attention.

Yes, the 4 pins will work, but why not use all 8 pins ? As long as you don't use two separate 4-pin molex plugs. I'm assuming that the 8 pin plug was separated to allow the possibility of plugging just a 4 pin plug. If the two fit together properly(as with a 20/24 pin power plug), then you would have an 8 pin plug. I have an Abit mobo which has an 8 pin CPU power connector, as does tyme1012's mobo. Abit suggests plugging in the 8 pin connector, though the 4 pin connector would certainly work.
