Comment: Hiya everyone.. I've posted in the gaming section before but no joy yet, i need to order a new psu today but i'm having alot of trouble with choosing what would work in my pc. Specs: http://tinyurl.com/2o268y My home pix: Pic 1: http://tinyurl.com/3737jg Pic 2: http://tinyurl.com/2k6nqa Pic 3: http://tinyurl.com/3dq7lh Closer of the psu PSU Sticker: http://tinyurl.com/34ajzy Model No: FSP250-60GEN From looking on the PB Site i have an Aruba case if that helps.. Aruba Case: http://tinyurl.com/2vs4d9 Heres my problem.. i'm upgrading my ram and graphics card which requires a better PSU, the psu i have currently is only a 250w and i was thinking of getting.. Reply: (edit)"BUT!!! i don't know if it will fit, i'm not sure if what i have is matx or atx.." I posted the ATX PSU design guide for you in the gaming forum last week. All you need to do is go to the page with the PSU dimensions & compare them to your current PSU...that will tell you if it's ATX or mATX.

Reply: (edit)Ok i've tried opening up my case and measuring the PSU i currently have myself and its 'something' like this.. ^ Height: around 87mm w/o fan on bottom v around 100mm w/fan on bottom < Length > : around 140mm / depth / : around 150mm The PSU i currently have as i've said has a mauve socket which powers my speakers but if need be i can just buy some new speakers with a seperate power plug. I just would really like to know if the OCZ PSU i linked to will fit without problems and be fine as in have the right connectors for my mobo etc etc as i want to put a HD3850 ATI inside as Jam suggested but it will require additional power, sorry for all the trouble :/ If not could somebody post an alternate PSU from Amazon that i could use? thanks guys <3 Jam - I looked at the design guide but it all went over my head, i tried but i still need help with it. Bakers - The other post was about 3 things this is just about the PSU, i made a new topic as the other wasnt getting replies and i need the answer within the next few hours, sorry if it was considered a rule-break :( Thank you in advance.. (and sorry) Hannah xoxox (Edit: Also i had a look on the connectors and what i could see were.. HD - connected to PSU by 5pin plug Dvd drive - connected by 4pin plug MOBO - 24pin i think and another 4 pin connector (pins i take it are the amount of wires going into the plug, same thing?) )

Reply: (edit)How hard can it be? You look at the dimensions in the guide then check them against what you have. The size should be 150mm x 140mm x 86mm. You can also check the spacing of the 4 mounting holes...the top 2 holes should be 138mm apart, the bottom 2 should be 114mm apart.

Reply: (edit)Thanks :) i already ordered it by this point so i'm hoping everything works out, i didn't measure the screw hole spacing before i didn't know i had to but i'm hoping everything will be ok. Jam it was kind of difficult to understand for me, alot of numbers and although i thought i understood i just needed a little reasurrance on it as i've never done this before and its worrying to me! Thanks larry for your post also :) I've ordered it and hopefully all will go well i'll let you know how i get on. Thanks all Hannah xoxoxo

Reply: (edit)The StealthXStream 600W is actually made for OCZ by Fortron (FSP) & it has four +12v rails @ 18A each. Personally, I'm not a big fan of multiple +12v rails anymore. When it was 1st developed, it seemed like a great idea & for a while, it was. But as hardware (especially video cards) have become more power hungry, the split rail design has begun to fall out of favor. Many PSU manufacturer's have gone back to a single +12v rail with very high amperage. For example, this Corsair 650W unit has a whopping 52A amps on a single +12v rail: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... That being said, I doubt you'll have any problems. The OCZ/FSP unit is a good one. Here's a review: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/arti...

Reply: (edit)Hi guys! Followup: Installed my new PSU and it fit in fine.. actually smaller than the original PSU by a little bit, plenty of cables left over for new components and a very nice PSU all-round :) So if anybody has the PB iMedia 1628 with Aruba case (default mine came with) know that its quite fine to upgrade your psu! (Well with the one i upgraded to atleast hehe) Thanks all for your help :) Hannah xoxoxoxo
