Hey,
I've finally scraped enough money to upgrade my cheap $20 510W PSU for a 480W Antec Truepower 2.0 TPII-480 after hearing some scary stuff as a result of cheap PSUs. I'm wondering about the dual +12V rails though. I hear that one rail powers the CPU and the other powers the peripherals. So that should support the power needs of an AMD 3500+ system w/ 2 optical drives, 1 HDD right?

Any opinions and useful advice would be helpful.

Will it be enough to support a single 7900 GT? I've heard their power requirements are large but not phenomenal.
