Hi, I want to upgrade the PSU to power a video card.I'm thinhing 500w PSU. The existing PSU is rated 250w.. Will I have a problem with the length of the new ATX unit. There is a length stop in the case. Can that be adjusted or modified if necessary? Thanks!
An Athlon 500 may have an AGP 1X slot. This will be problematic at best. (finding a card that will work)
If you don't mind my asking, why are you considering ugrading the graphics? I ask because you are talking about spending a minimum of $100, possibly more on a obsolete computer. That money might be better spent on a new machine. The cheapest OEM box will no doubt outperform your present rig and will come with more storage, more RAM and a new operating system. Not to mention USB 2.0 connection, etc. Integrated graphics of the current generation will probably out perform your current graphics by far.
