Comment: Hey all. I have a Compaq D510 SFF PC (also known as the D51S). I'd like to upgrade a few components. However, the first thing I need to upgrade is the power supply. It's extremely weak. Do any of you have any idea of a PSU that would fit the specs of the case? Thanks a bunch for the help. Chebwa

Reply: (edit)There was another guy who was recently asking about an EVO 500 SFF. We tried to convince him that it was a poor choice, but he insisted that's what he wanted & bought it anyway...then constantly asked where to find upgrade components. Anyhow, you're gonna have to somehow determine whether an aftermarket PSU will even fit in the case. Then you'll have to determine whether HP/Compaq used proprietary wiring. http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11349_na/11349_na.HTML

Reply: (edit)BTW, if you go to the site I posted above & look closely at the pic of the SFF PC, check out the power supply (labeled # 9). Do you see the way it's shaped with the cooling fan on a diagonal?? My guess is you will HAVE to use an HP/Compaq replacement unit. To be sure that's what you have, open up your case & have a look. If it's shaped like this one, you're SOL: http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-13583232596255_1901_5258049

Reply: (edit)That would be the bizarro PSU in mine. I am going to assume HP doesn't even make a 500W PSU for these types of PCs. ...this stinks. Chebwa
