I really like this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817148008
It is an ASPIRE ATX-AS520W
Looks like an excellent PSU.
It says ATX instead of ATX12V even though it has a 24 Power connector and a 2x2 4 Pin connector. Will this work in my mobo? I have an Abit An8. With 30+ A on the 3 volt rails, and under $60 I really want this. If this does work in my mobo, when I install it, do I just put the 24pin power connector in it or do I put both the 24 pin and the extra 4 pin connector? Don't want to blow my board.

I'm sure it will work but I just want to be sure. I don't see why it wouldn't work...

While looking around at newegg, I found another one that I want. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817182010
Is Rosewill any good?
also my previous question still remains, Do I just plug the 24 pin in or do I put both the 24pin and the extra 4 pin power connector? I think the extra 4 pin is just for PSUs without a 24pin connector.

From what I've read, Rosewill is not good either. Stick with a reputable brand name like Antec, Enermax, Thermaltake, to name a few. If your motherboard has a connector for the square 4-pin plug, it must be plugged in. And I suggest you get a PSU based on the new ATX12V 2.0 standard

The more expensive ATX12V have 2 12V rails...Is this good to have or not? pretty much all of the Antec, ENERMAX, and Thermaltake ATX12V have two 12V rails. Does it really matter? Here is a link to one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153022
It is a Thermaltake PurePower 460Watt
15a on both 12V rails so 30a for 12V in all. I guess that pretty good.
I really don't want to spend over $100 on a PSU.

ATX12V 2.0 is the new standard. If you don't buy one now, you definitely will on the next build. And if you buy one of those Aspire PSUs, you'll probably be replacing it in a few months anyway, along with a few other parts that fry when the PSU blows...lol.

With dual +12v lines, one is the dedicated power source for the CPU...the other is for the optical drives, HDDs, & cooling fans. Also, the 2.0 standard requires SATA power connectors...they were included on some PSUs before, but now they MUST be included. The other major change is the 24-pin main power plug. That means no crappy adapters.

I've never worked with Rosewill, so I have no 1st hand experience. But as far as I know, Rosewill isn't a manufacturer, they're a repackager...so if you can identify what company actually manufacturered the PSU you're looking at, you may find yourself a deal...then again, you may find that it's a P.O.S. too.

I read in the newegg reviews that that Rosewill is a repackaged ENERMAX. I'm going with a different one so it doesn't matter now. Thank you for all of your help jam and squirrel.
