really depends on your entire systems components and not just your video card. list your specs

"What kinda PSU you need for a GeForce 7800 GT".....I'd recommend a 500W with at least 20A on the +12v rail.

"one more Question is there a big differnce between 7800 GT..and GTX?"....yeah about $150+ (unmerited).

I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

Amperage on the +12v rail is critcal. Don't buy a cheap no-name brand unit. Stick with reputable brand names & plan on spending at least $50 for something reliable

This space for rent

550w on an "el cheapo" means nothing. Don't save a few bucks here and expect anything good.

Hi
having had problems with a bfg oc 7800gt & psu's heres a tip , you need a dual rail psu, standard 500 watt psu are no good unless its continuous out put is sufficient to power your entire system and some.

the 7800gt uses two rail inputs dont be tempted to use one rail and the splitter
be aware many 500watt psu just dont cut the mustard.

Hiper Tagan etc their expensive but do the job.

I havnt found much in the way of performance diff between the bfgoc gt and gtx & depends on your cpu.
dmark05 6763 425/1050
optimised 6839
compare;

gtx wasnt worth the extra £100.

for sale: slightly used 2x enermax 500 watt for underpowered systems £50..

just to note ;
enermax have updated their psu line.
you might want to consider one with the pci express support

check some other specs here;
