Hello, today i have run into some problems, every once in a while like once an hour my comp will totally restart, it wont freeze or anything it will just restart, its not like windows restart because it does the bios memory scan unlike in windows restart when it doesnt. I am wondering is this my psu failing or another error? it never has done this before

If you have "automatic restart" enabled - disable it.

You also failed to mention what you are in the middle of when it restarts - gaming, ripping movies, downloading pr0n, surfing?

Is the system overclocked?

Is it overheating?

Can you post your PSU's detailed specification?

The system is not overclocked

What you got - a Maxtop case or something?

I checked out what I assume to be your likely PSU & even though it's not in the best of specs component-wise, it should be able to support your system unless you have some component(s) that's squeezing some major juice out of the PSU.

Do you have multiple HDDs or a power hungry graphics card?

Well my processor is a 1.2ghz, running a single maxtor 40gb, the video card is a nvidia geforce2 gts/geforce2 pro 32mb, 256mb ram on one stick, and i only have 1 case fan and 1 cpu fan.

I am starting to think that it is the psu starting to fail because this computer is 5 years old.
