When I turned my computer off the last time I used it I decided to turn the PSU switch off for some reason. The next day I go and turn it on again and the PSU makes a high pitched sound. The computer fans were spinning but slowly and then bam, it all goes off. It now won't turn on even though the power LED indicator is on when I haven't even pushed the power button on the case.

The Motherboard is an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe and the PSU is a 400W Jeantech JNP-400P. By testing the components with working components I've diagnosed that the PSU and Motherboard are damaged and pretty much dead. I have no idea about the rest but I’m hoping it’s all alright. I think by testing the PSU on another Motherboard that it may have damaged that one also.

I've had the PSU for about 3 years so I can only really throw it away. The Motherboard though is only about 1.5 years old. I'm going to try and send it back but don't know what ASUS' warranty policy is. I can't find any information that may have come with the board or on the ASUS website. I found some sites saying everything has a standard 3 year warranty Worldwide but don't know if this is true. If this fails I guess I’ll have to send it back to the online retailer I bought it from.

You should be able to send it to Asus. They do give a 3 year warranty.

I don't know if they will test the motherboard for cause of damage.

You should have registered your board with ASUS when you got it. If you didn't, you'll have to go to their tech support site & setup an account. Hopefully you still have all the purchase info. Once your account is setup, you can get into the process of warranty replacement

OK, I'll do that.

I didn't know that you had to register the Motherboard. :/

Thanks for the help.
