DON'T they're two different ways of comunicating with the mobo.
You could cause damage to your system!!!!!!!!!!

anyway, it will not damage the system. is it a usb mouse? or are you using an adapter?
USB devices usually need usb drivers...so you need to install the right driver

not sure what hmmm is thinking but it will not damage your system. thats why they make those adapters so you can convert PS/2 to USB. the 2nd hmm is probably right. check the drivers...if they are required.
