Comment: i have four usb ports im using us mouse i just brought a new mouse this mouse is ps/2 port mouse i coonected it with ps/2 port even the red light is on but th mouse is not working i have no driver disk inside the box but mouse works without driver then y this one not working????

Reply: (edit)Ok - your optical mouse is receiving power via the PS/2 port - I'm not positive that means the port is enabled in the BIOS. The option should be there, maybe you should look harder? Worth looking at Device Manager to see just what's showing under 'mice' You won't need a driver disk for a standard PS/2 mouse, but it may be different for an optical one. Is this really a PS/2 or are you using a USB-to-PS/2 adapter? Make & model? We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true
