My mouse starts off OK then starts to stick at various points. The problem gets worse until eventually the mouse freezes. Other than that the machine continues to operate normally. I can load and use applications normally using the keyboard. Actions so far: - cleaned the mouse - uninstalled AVG and replaced with Panda - uninstalled all unwanted apps - installed Advanced System Care and run all diagnostics (no significant issues detected) - run disk defrag and registry clean up - installed Process Explorer to monitor machine performance - tried killing processes one by one until only essential system processes remain - fixed problem with transfer mode on Secondary IDE controller (was set to PIO now Ultra DMA 2) - uninstalled and reinstalled mouse. I still think this is a performance issue but it happens even when the machine is under very light load. (for example doing nothing more than running Solitaire). Anyone got any ideas?
