|Use one of the mice that works on yours and go into device manager and remove anything associated with the mouse. Then shut down the computer--you may need to use CTRL-ALT-DEL or the windows and arrow keys if the mouse is now disabled.|
Then put your optical mouse in and start up the computer. Does it work now? If the mouse requried a driver disk you may need to use that to finalize the installation.
