Hi all,
I have an Acer Aspire Idea 510 Media Center PC that came with its own WiFi keyboard. I have since had my OC repaired (motherboard replaced by AceR) and now the keyboard fails to work. I know its got something to with the new motherboard (keyboard receiver is probably wired on the board itself).
Acer claim it must be the k/board, but i can vouch 150% that the keyboard is in working order.
Can someone confirm to me that this system actually has the wifi keyboard receiver within the PC, so i can get back at Acer.
Please help.
Thanks

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But I think you might be using the wrong terminology.
I think 'wireless' keyboards, mice, etc, use a different interface then the 'WIFI' 802.
Is it possible that the keyboard is set to a different freq/channel than the PC?

I am not up to speed on this Laptop and the technology used but it does have built-in WiFi so you may be correct on how the KBoard communicates with the laptop. It could also be bluetooth or infrared.
Go into Device Manager and look to see if any devices are not working properly.
I have tried for some time now to find that model listed on the Acer site. I THINK it may be a sub group of the 5100 series. That is just a guess though.
Somehow you need to find all the drivers for your Laptop and install them. I think the Keyboard is bluetooth.

Ok, its not a laptop. Its an Acer Aspire iDea 510 Media center.
Everything on the Device Manager is ok. There are no drivers for this keyboard. No way of setting its frequency either. It was working perfectly until Acer replaced my motherboard. All else works perfectly, except this keyboard and i know 200% that its in working order.

OK, I guess I jumped to a conclusion there. The link below looks like a laptop. Anyway the description still mentions bluetooth.
I don't doubt what you say. I am trying to find a solution for you. I am pretty sure some drivers are required here. Do you have any disks that came with the unit?
The Acer site is still hiding any reference to this niche computer.
Try booting into the BIOS to see if any integrated hardware is currently disabled. If it is then it wouldn't show in Device Manager.
I am guessing that when the computer and keyboard previously worked you had no reason to look at the BIOS or Device Manager.

I see you also posted the same question at the link below.

In this post dated September 7, I agree with the person who told you: then it's time to contact acer and demand a resolution...
Questions:
1. Did Acer authorized the repair?
2. Did you sent the whole unit back to Acer?
3. Who repair-reinstalled Windows and drivers after the motherboard was replaced?i_Xp/VistaUser

It may be bluetooth and the bluetooth is disabled in BIOS.
