Mobo is an ABit NF7-S 2.0.
Just got a Prometeia MachII. Followed the instructions: booted successfully, then attached the USB connector to the USB on the board (verifying that the ground was in the right position). When I connected it, got a message to the affect from XP that the new USB device was found (and working properly). When I tried running the PCC app, I got a message "USB connection failed - unable to run program".
Also verified the colors on the clip - the wires appear to be connected in the right spot (red/white/green/black). Also verified that the Ground is in the right spot (i.e. when connected to the motherboard). Tried attaching the connector to all four USB ports - and it won't work on any of them - any suggestions?
Thanks
Joe

hello
have a look in the device manager see if every things ok there.••• Resistance is invigorating! •••kill spyware

Cable had mismatched leads. Unbelievable.
Also - the CD they shipped it with had a bad version of the monitoring software - I upgraded from the site as well (even with the corrected leads the old app doesn't work - tested that as well). Rather annoying.
ANYHOW - on the leads. Opened up the Prommie case, compared the leads on both ends of the USB cable, swapped the leads so they matched on both ends, and now it works great. Hard to believe that happened.... getting better at tearing stuff apart from the factory to see if they connected everything correctly (had it happen on a Koolance case as well - wire was NOT connected in that case though).
Thanks - appreciate it
Joe
