Question on temperature thresholds/ranges on the ABit NF7-S 2.0 with a Prommie MachII.

What is the temperature range the sensor will actually report on the CPU? Supposedly the MachII will take the CPU down to -15C, but the sensor is reading around 15C. Not sure if the sign is just flipped or what. Using MBM5 to monitor the temps. One thing I have noticed is that the temperature does seem to INCREASE over time (i.e. 15-18 C etc when running a load) so I'm not sure if the true temp is being reported or not. BUT, I thought I read somewhere the mobo won't report neg temps (i.e. you see the temp, just not the sign next to it).

Thanks

Joe

Prometeia had an output displaying saying what temp it is at.

Sorry - didn't clarify the temp. Don't have the LED kit for it (yet). Sensor I'm looking at is Sensor 2 (supposedly the CPU temp - Sensor 1 is apparently the mobo temp).

Just read that the temp diode on the mobo is under the CPU and doesn't give an accurate reading of the core temp.

Wondering if I'd have to install another sensor somewhere, or if the chip itself will report the core temp with the right software...

Temps:
Evaporator (through the Chip-Con Software)
-22F
Motherboard (through MBM5)
87F
CPU (MBM5: through the diode UNDER the CPU???)
68F

Does the chip itself have a temp sensor on it somewhere that will give the core (or somewhere near...) temp?

Joe

the chip does not. in fact the pometia system should have one built it to it. The motherboard senson might not b able to go bellow zero or it might b withought the - in frunt of the number why not just ask the manufacture... but even if the sensor could go below 0 it is not as acurate as it should be.
