Comment: Is there a program out there to find problems with memory CPU or hardware on a computer? My system freezes after about 15 minutes passes or I play my everquest game for about 5 minutes or less. Ive got the most recent drivers on everything with a fresh install of windows XP . I had several problems trying to get windows XP to install too. But just wanting to know if there is a program to detrermin faulties in hardware. Thank you for all of your help.

Reply: (edit)I had a similar problem recently, and after much looking around and a couple of reinstalls, and swapping out hardware. The culprit was the video card. No more problems.

Reply: (edit)Also try different memory sticks. How about heat? Also, CPU mounting. Make sure it's mounted correctly and fully seated on the heatsink, with enough but not too much heat compound. Don't forget the power supply. Is it large enough to handle all your hardware? 350 watts is about the minimum these days, and 450 isn't unreasonable. Good luck. :) HTH

Reply: (edit)By any chance was it Nvidia video card in an AGP slot? I have two NVidia cards here ironicly.. So changeing out the video cards it does the same thing. I have one 16 meg video card(NVIDIA RIVA TNT) and the other one is a 64 meg(NVIDIA GEforce4 MX 420) video card. Ive read a lot about the nvidia series and found a lot of problems. I think I have it singled out to a video card problem but can't be for sure. Also i don't know if I have the power setting correctly. My BIOS has 4 different power settings and if you ever went to nvidia web site they don't support their products :P Heres the link to prove it : Royally sux. http://nvidia.com/page/support.html But I think i'm going to get a different video card and stop supporting Nvidia several different other good video cards out on the market right? Any suggestions?

Reply: (edit)"Is there a program out there to find problems with memory CPU or hardware on a computer?" Some new mobos do this on-board. App software is too far away from the problem.
