I want to upgrade to a faster processor but I dont know what will be compatible. I have a Pentium 3 in a HP Pavilion 9600. Do I need to change the mother board? Am I just better off geting a new tower???

Well I checked it out and it looks like 800Mhz P3 is the best I can do according to HP. Are you saying it is still better for me to start from scratch and build my own or would I be just as well bying a new tower?

Start with everything new. Upgrading that will be frustrating, if even possible.
