centrino kicks ass...sempron sucks ass...centrino will allow you to adjust the processor speed to what ever you want when ever you want and will automatically go to full power when u plug in..sempron hangs out at low power until it thinks u need more power, then takes about 2 min to kick it into high gear. way to slow and annoying to me. things take for ever to load cuz it doesn't switch to higher power until like 2 min latter.

Centrino is not a type of processor. It is the name of the technology that uses a set of 3 specific chips made by Intel.

With Intel Centrino mobile technology, three components work together enabling outstanding mobile performance, extended battery life and integrated wireless network capability in thinner and lighter notebooks. These components include the Intel® Pentium® M processor, the Intel® 855 chipset family and the Intel® PRO/Wireless Network Connection Family.

Although the P-M may be the better CPU, kerodude3058's assessment of the Sempron is totally wrong. Apparently he doesn't know how to disable "PowerNow!"
