hello,
i have been having a lot of trouble with my computer. first checked device manger all wwas well.
now went back and looked and my processor has
yellow exclamation mark next to it.my processor is pentium d cpu 2.8 ghz.
now one might say check the driver.
the question i would have about that is:
i beleive there is a certain order in iinstalling drivers, wouldn't that be part of the chipset drivers that were to be installed first-- that covered the mmotherboard. i did this as part of fresh install a week ago.if i go to the dell sight and install chipset again wouldn't this have an adverse effect?
or possibly should i look for a seperate set of drivers for this.
thanks,

Re-install the OS from the factory media and see if that happens again. If so contact Dell support.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Go here:
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...
and enter your service tag number and then see what drivers are available.

hello,
i did not want to reinstall but that would definitely work.
i reinstalled the chipset drivers from dell,
but had no success.what did work is uninstalling the processors in device manager--
right click processor-->uninstall
i did a reboot and let windows reinstall the drivers.
thanks,
