I put my new system together over the weekend and have some problems with it.

Specs are:

Leadtek Winfast 7350KDA mobo
Leadtek Winfast GeForce4 440SE vid card
AMD Athlon 1800XP processor
256 Mb DDR 266 ram
IBM Deskstar 40Gb HDD
52x CDRom
40x12x48x Liteon CD-RW

The main problem I have is that when I shut down the light in my mouse stays on, suggesting that power is still passing through the system. I discovered that if I don't switch off at the back of the PSU, my HDD is not detected on my next startup. This seems as though there may be power still going to the HDD as well. If I swich off at the back, everything boots up fine, but accessing the back of the machine is somewhat difficult because of the location of my box.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this problem? Could it be a faulty PSU? Or maybe the mobo?

My mouse light stays on as well. So does the optical mouse on two of my friend's computers. I don't think there's really anything wrong with the mouse light being on but I don't know what's wrong with your hard drive.

I used this same mouse with my old system, but the light didn't stay on when I shutdown. That's why I thought there must be a problem there.
