I formatted my external HDD using Vista's computer manager. First deleted all the partitions, created new partition and then formatted. Now can't see the drive at all in explorer. What's the go?

Have you tried unplugging it and then plugging back in to see if it gets recognized.

Then drive letters have been assigned too? If not, that is why it isn't showing in explorer.

I chose not to specify a drive letter when creating the drive. So the OS should just choose the next available drive letter, so don't understand how the drive letter is the problem. Could you explain it please

I don't use Vista so I can't state for sure, but in WinXP if you don't have a drive letter assigned the drive will not show in My Computer. I assume Vista is similar.
You have no map of where to find a drive that has no data on it.
