Subject: Problems with Video Card and movies
OS: Windows XP Professional
CPU/Ram: Pentium 4 (1.6Ghz)/ 256 M
Comment:

I have a MS-6528 LE Motherboard (MSI) with a Pentium 4 CPU running at 1.6 Ghz, 256 Ram, 10 GB HDD, 32MB Video Pine PCI SiS305. My problem is this:
When I watch some movies in this PC the movies kind of freeze a little or slow down in some parts where there are lots of fast movements.
As you can see I have a fast PC with a good video card, this should not be happening. As a matter of fact i play the same movies on a Compaq Pentium III 733 Mhz PC with 128 RAM, 8 MB video sis 305 and there is no problem at all. You can see the movie as fast as if you were on a real TV. If you may think this is some kind of codecs problem I wouldnt say so because the Pentium 4 PC has the same codecs installed as the Compaq Pentium III.
I took the video card out of the Compaq and tried it on the Pentium 4 and then it worked well with the videos. It didnt freeze at all.
Both PCs are running Windows XP Pro.
I would like to know if any of you out there has any idea of what may be causing this problem, or if you have heard of any incompatibility between this motherboard and some video cards.

Thanks for your help!

P.S: By the way, i'm sorry about my english...

hello
since the old computers graphics card worked well in both. and your origenal did not. it would be your card.
try it in anther pci slot.
look in device manager for erors with card. it might be shareing i/o irq,s and may need to be set diferantly ether in device manager of if windows dont let you in bios.
and make sure drivers for this card are up to date and proper ones for this card.
