I seem to be having a problem with the S-Video out on my ATI Radeon x700 card. I figured that getting my desktop to my TV would be simple: plug in the S-Video cable, detect the TV in the ATI Control Panel, and set it to be enabled. Well, I did all that, and all my TV shows is its regular black blank screen on the auxiliary channel. The Control Panel is detecting the TV (or at least the S-Video cable; the CP gives me options for the TV), but nothing is showing up on the TV. My system is fairly typical, Windows XP, Radeon x700 AGP, and I have a TV that supports S-Video. HOWEVER, I am running the S-Video through a sort of source selector for auxiliary input... there's a black box with options for 4 sets composite inputs (Red, White, Yellow) and a corresponding S-Video input (EG, there's 4 spots for Aux. In, each with the option for either composite or S-Video). I have the S-Video running in to one of the sockets, which is selected, and the output is connected to the TV securely and works with other auxiliary signals from other channels. In the same slot as the S-Video in I have two composite cables for audio running in to the same input as the S-Video from my computer, but I don't think that makes a difference.
Have I set something up wrong? What could the problem be? I think my computer's side of things is set up alright... at least it can tell the TV is there and the TV's connection is enabled...
I'm baffled! Help!
Thanks

It could be that you have it set for "EXTENDED DESKTOP" (I've made this mistake before) If you have nothing in the desktop extension while on this setting then it will of course be blank.
Make sure you are set up to show your EXISTING desktop.
The aux switcher box shouldn't affect this situation (provided it's on the proper setting)

I set my card to "clone" my desktop display to the TV Monitor, which is I think what you were telling me to do, and restarted my computer. Still nothing on the TV.
Flummoxed.
