The installation of my WinTV went smoothly, but since then, I've had Stream DShow error messages come up.
I started getting the message "StartEncoder : No Data from Encoder" when I try to record. Sometimes it'll start to record and then freeze and error-out when I click stop. Or it won't record at all. I'll get the message "A stream operation failed" when I go back on WinTV and the picture is blank. It actually worked pretty well for a few days, but then I began to get the message "RunGraph Failed to Run - Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."
What's going on? Could it be a conflict with something on my hard drive? I've heard about WinTV conflicting with DVD software, but I have no special software for watching DVDs on my system (I normally just use Media Center or WMP11).
As for connections, my DVR-out goes into a splitter that connects to the PCI card. The digital cable channels come in on channel 3, which is also what my VCR comes in on the TV (The digital cable comes in on Video-4). In order to play on VHS on the WinTV, I unhook DVR-out and hookup VCR-in and out. There is a spot for S-Video on my VCR, but doing it that way (per the suggestion in the manual) didn't work. And I'm using Vista Premium Edition.
