Problem with IBM ThinkPad T40

Specs: Windows XP
I have laptop IBM ThinkPad T40, and when I turn
it on it starts to boot but then it prompts black
screen and shows a place to enter a key. I do not
know what it is. It did not even start booting the
system, just pass memory test. Please help me.

My guess is it so bad that it can't finish post. Some IBM's show a number sequence and others show a floppy icon. You used to be able to download some of the service diagnostic programs from IBM until Lenovo bought then. Since then the information kind of got lost. Imagine that. You can look for info at ibm or lenovo. Use the system number on back instead of T40.
