It's a driver problem I believe. Try doing this:

Start > Run C:\3dsmax7\3dsmax.exe -h

This will let you change the display driver. For me, OpenGL works best but DirectX is getting better.

it happens to me all the time - the thing is that it becomes normal after a split second

i'm using OpenGL

btw, force 2-sided won't work on many cards on Direct3d mode, even if it's supported by the card

(i'm using an ATI mobility X600 Radeon)

Depends on the card really. I use a Radeon 9700 Pro so the is doesn't make much difference. OpenGL is probably fastest though but DirectX (especially 9) allows you to turn on AA and stuff. Although I think you can will OpenGL too but can't remember. I don't think they'd be much difference between 8 and 9 apart from the new features 9 supports. Your card only supports DirectX 7 and below so it won't matter.

Yeah, my card is a bitch...

So now that we're on the topic I'm getting a new GFX card for my birthday, what do you recommend me? I've seen some cards at +$300 but thats too expensive...
