unzipped files succesfully but while installing got error that aborted process. it said "the audio driver files do not support your comp. hardware not:if you unistalled audio software without restarting your PC, restart now, then run this setup agin."
restarted computer, ran again, still no dice
Are you sure you have ADI/SoundMAX? The following file *should* already be installed on your system, but it shouldn't hurt to reinstall it. Once installed, try the sound driver again.
i completely removed the hardware and reinstalled it but got the error "HDA audios bus driver is required and not found" also what you gave doesnt apply to my computer its apparently for HP comps. while i have a dell dimension 4600c. idk.
System restore to a date prior to the problem ?
yes system restore prior to this problem. i thought that might have something to do with it but i cant get ahold of the dude that did it for me right now.
"what you gave doesnt apply to my computer its apparently for HP comps" It is NOT for "HP comps". It's a Microsoft fix to "support the UAA bus driver for HD audio". It just happens to be available at the HP website. If it will make you feel better, I can find the exact same file somewhere else.
i actually found the UAA bus driver after some searching but the f---ing thing keeps saying "HDA audio bus drivers is required #$$R$%R$" it makes me want to go hulk on my comp.
