I bought a new computer with sata HD. i've installed my old IDE HD. the bios recognized it, and so the WinXP. the problem is, that after i turned off and on the computer, it didn't recognized the ide HD. i don't want to define the HD in the bios every time i turn on my computer, so what do i need to do to make it remmember the IDE HD?

You must not have the drives configured correctly in the BIOS. The SATA drive is a different animal so don't get confused about which channel you have the IDE drive on. Be sure the drives are IDed correctly in the BIOS and save on exit. Also, if the IDE drive isn't formatted it won't show in My computer. Use the manage options in windowsXP to format the drive.
