I tried to build a new pc system, install a Aopen Ak715 motherboard and all the other hardware to its place into a new case that came with a 300w power supply plug everything into the power supply and then turn it on the fans was running the led light started blinking red for 5 sec and then it shut down, tried to turn it back on but nothing turned on, the power button doesn't work, just the stby light on the motherboard lights up. what could be the problem??

sounds like not everything is pluged in properly.
Make sure your RAM is firmly seated and you have the right type of ram.
Also make sure your wires on the front of the case is pluged in right.
Another possibility is make sure your ground for your mother board is set right, some times it helps to just losen the screwes on the MB and just jiggle the MB and tighten it down again.

i checked and everything is pluged probably the ram fit well and it is set firmly. i also checked the wires on the front of the case and it's in place i even tried switching them around but nothing still don't turn on.
how could i know if i fried my processor?

Go and 'downgrade' the configuration.
In order to check if the CPU works, unplug the mains power cord: pull off the IDE and FDD interface cables, remove all PCI cards and all but one memory module.
You now have a PC with the ATX power plug 'in': and only the CPU and AGP[?] video card in a working state.
Now Reset your BIOS. Plug in the power cord and try to boot. I know it won't load an operating system, but BIOS should start POST and if you're too slow to hit the setup button [DEL?, then complain about no Operating System and 'NO FLOPPY DISK.
If it doesn't even get this far you have one of three problems:
A faulty power supply
A Dead CPU
A faulty motherboardCheck with the BIOS / Motherboard manufacturer for a guide to the BEEPS...yeah the silly noises you get before your soundcard bursts into life.
With this in hand, then you can hopefully isolate your concerns to one of these 3 items.
If all works out and you do get BIOS up, and the system tries to boot, of course it will fail. Power off and then install one of the removed items: reboot and check for failures, if not install the next item. Repeat this until one item causes a failure or if you get to a fully operational state, you have properly reinstalled the problematic item and can now proceed with installation of Op Sys.
