Specs: Windows XP
Just turned the printer on today and the light on top is blinking. It won't print. I pressed the button to replace the print cartridge. It moved to the middle. I removed the printhead and put it back in. But the printhead won't return to it's proper position on the right. It insists on returning to the middle, and won't print. The light on top is still blinking. There are no messages on the computer to indicate a problem other than "print job failed." It was working the other day. Any ideas? Is this something I can fix?

It's a Canon BJC-4100. Sorry, I thought it saved that part yesterday.

Ok, it may indicate your waste Tank is full and the counter needs to be reset. Try this

1: Remove Cartridge
2: Unplug the AC Power Cord
3: Hold down the RESUME button
4: Release RESUME after plugging in the AC Power cord.
5: Press the RESUME once within 5 seconds and release the RESUME .
6: Press and HOLD RESUME for two seconds or more and release it.
7: Press and HOLD RESUME for two seconds or more and release it.
8: Unplug AC Power Cord to set data.
9. Plug the AC power cord back in and turn on your printer

I just followed the instructions you gave me. When I turned on the printer after following the instructions the printhead parked on the right where it should be, but the printer beeped 3 times and both LED lights on the front are blinking (power and error).

Next, I plugged the printer into the computer's USB port, and turned the printer off and back on. The printhead just returned to the center, beeped once, and 1 LED light is blinking (the green one below the power button).

Now what?
