Specs: Windows XP

Worked fine and then stopped one day - printer status comes up "User Intervention Required". Sharp was of no help. Computer is HP Pavilion a530n with XP2.

Could be any number of things wrong with the printer itself or the configuration of it.

First check to verify there are no paper jams and the cartridges are properly inserted. Then check the printer settings.

I have not seen that particular message ever come up.

Sorry, should have added that the printer works just fine plugged into the laptop. This is on my desktop.

✔ Best Answer

Then check the printer setup from Start> settings and printers.

Possibly remove the printer from there and then let Windows re-install it at the next start up.
