My Epsom Stylus Photo 890 printer has worked OK for years. Suddenly it refuses to print webpages. It will print anything which does not originate on the web such as letters produced using Word and photos from photoshop etc. Has anyone any idea s as to how I can solve this problem please? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

It may be a spyware problem first off. If you think otherwise i would open interent explorer and select File>Print. From there make sure the default printer selection is the one you are currently using, sometimes it can get changed when you add software that has built in printer images, such as Quickbooks and others.

If this doesn't resolve the problem you got one more option. Just uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers. It will take 7-8 minutes and would resolve this problem. If it doesn't i would really look into spyware removal.

Thanks Wheelspinner. I have run the Microsoft anti spyware program but found nothing. I then removed the printer software and installed it again. I also visited the Epson website and downloaded the latest drivers which, in fact I think were installed sometime ago. As before, it works OK with ordinary documents but does not perform when asked to print a web originated document. However I have discovered that if I open the printer properties and click on printing preferences under the General tab and then remove the tick from Print preview box it works OK with web pages. This is odd as I have always been able to use the print preview with all documents and it still works with non web documents. I also notice that the Apply button at the bottom of the printing preferences page is always greyed out.
Not sure if any of this makes sense but if you have any ideas they will be most welcome. Or is it just that the printer is getting a bit old? Thanks.
