Printer Problem

Hi everyone! My friend has this dot-matrix printer that won't print. It prints blank pages. The problem is, I can't really figure out what's wrong. The ribbon seems fine and all the correct drivers are loaded. The cable is intact and the power is on. The printer responds to printing requests, but nothing comes up on the page. If anybody out there has any suggestions, I would sure appreciate it. Also, the printer is online when I go try to print. The printer is quite old. Does anybody have any ideas to what the problem may be? I tried everything I could think of. Did I miss anything?

When was the last time this printer actually worked? If it has been sitting around for a long time perhaps the pins in the print head are frozen from dirt or dried ink. Alternatively perhaps the cabling to the print head has deteriorated meaning that the printer is now dead.

You could try spraying some WD40 on the pins. Those old dot matrix printers usually had an offline test. You could ry it.
