Printer Printing Only In Blue

Good morning! This is the problem I'm having. I have an Epson CX3810 printer. I've had it for about 2 years, and it has always run perfectly. This weekend, I went to purchase 2 ink cartridges for it: a black one and a magenta one. I installed them as usual, and the ink screen on my computer reflected that I now had magenta and black ink. However, when I try to print, it only prints in blue/yellow ink. It's almost as if it's not recognizing that I have black/magenta now. To make matters worse, the ink levels on my computer screen show that I've used up 1/4 of the black ink already! My pages haven't come out smeared in black, so I have no idea where my ink is going.

I'd truly appreciate any assistance y'all could give me. Thank you in advance!

Are you SURE you've properly seated the black cartridge?

I'm positive! The printer has a locking mechanism that clicks when the cartridge has been properly inserted. After the pages kept coming out blue, I took out and reinserted the cartridges again, but nothing changed. When I tried to print something out again this morning, it told me that my black ink was down to 1/2.
