when I go looking for a printer for my pc, most list the requirement for a p200 as minimum. does anyone know why this is listed as minumum system? would this printer work on my 133 system? would it just be slower or is there something more fundamental about how it operates? Al

Hi Al,
Sounds like you're looking at a GDI printer.
It is just like a winmodem being a dumbed down modem. The printer uses the computers CPU to raster the job. It makes for a cheaper printer (probably by saving 1 chip).
It will probably print slowly, but you may find it very frustrating if you try to do something else when printing. You'll also need to be running Windows, they don't work from DOS. On an older P233 laptop, printing to a HP 722c (windows printer) I notice a big drop in performance when printing.
Networking them can also being a problem. If you share it from a PC it'll probably work, but most print servers won't support these printer.
