Printer for Kodachrome slides

A friend has numerous 2x2 and 2 1/4 Kodachrome slides he wants to scan and print.

He's looking at the HP Photosmart 2710 and the Canon Multipass MP370. The print speeds are about 3 min on those two.

Suggestions and recommendations.

This one's out of my purview.

If he's serious about scanning his slides, get this:

http://www.nikonimaging.com/global/products/scanner/scoolscan_4000/index.htm

Using this scannner, Adobe Photoshop, and an HP 7000 series injet, I can make prints that are of higher quality than I get from a photo lab.

My Epson R1800 prints are every bit as good if not better than lab prints from slides. Awesome printer with VERY life like colors.

You can do it a bit cheaper than the previous replies. I use Minolta Scan Dual IV and an Epson R320 printer for Kodachromes with great success.

I've used the Minolta Scan Dual too. It was my first slide scanner. The Nikon is much better and .. a lot more.

The minolta won't do 2 1/4. The Nikon is great, but again, no 2 1/4.

If he's serious about scanning his 2 1/4 stuff, the difference in price between the minolta and the nikon is chump change...

Most people shooting 2 1/4 Kodachrome probably aren't gonna settle for the backlit flatbed route-- budget permitting ;)
