Specs: Linx Ubuntu 9.10, compaq presario SR1500X
How in the world do you get this O/S to print????????
New edition of an O/S but without a printer its not going to make it.
The printer is a Lexmark X1270 three in one unit, I would be happy just to have it PRINT.
Has anyone a SIMPLE quick method to get this printer to work. Please, if you do be as detailed as possible on the installation, especially if I need you write code.

To make any printer work you are going to need a print driver. The only place you are going to get one is from Lexmark. If Lexmark don't do a print driver for Linux, which it appears the don't, then you are our of luck. One of the reasons why I don't use Linux.

Writing a print driver for any operating system is no trivial task.
