My Lexmark Z515 printer will print a test page, it will do a page when I clean the nozzles, but when I try to print anything else, from wordpad or wherever, it goes thru the motions and the page is blank. The only thing I have done since the last time I used the printer was I installed Adobe reader. That couldn't cause a conflict, could it?

You can set any printer in your system as the default printer.
You are probably using the default WinXP start menu so go to Start> printers and faxes> right click on the Lexmark z515> choose set as default printer.

Thanks. It is set as the default printer. It will print the test page, but anything else I try to print is just blank. That doesn't make sense to me.

Go into one of the programs you print from and look to see what printer is set as the default for that program. They can sometimes be different from the Windows default printer. In Word you use File up in the upper left corner, then print. you will get a screen showing which printer will be used. You can change it if necessary. Sometimes there may be more than one instance of the same printer. Or the name may be slightly different. That can cause problems.
Are you printing locally (connected to the computer you are printing from) or thru a network?

Then I suggest you remove the printer from the list I showed you how to get to. Disconnect the printer if USB then reboot and reinstall the software and then reconnect the printer.

I give up.
I un-installed, rebooted and tried installing with the printer unplugged. It wouldn't install without me plugging it back in. After it installed, it printed the alignment page and the test page and still won't print anything else. I went to Lexmark to try and download a new driver. This printer is not even listed on their site anymore. I guess I will get a new one. The bad thing is I have new ink cartridges that have printed only a few pages and they probably won't fit the next one. Oh well, such is life in the computer world.
Thanks for trying to help.

This is the weirdest thing. I installed a new driver and downloaded the instruction book. Tried printing a page fron the book and it printed perfectly. Tried printing from Wordpad again and it's still printing blank pages.

You may have a problem with the print spooler. Below is one link of many if you Google Windows print spooler.

That didn't work, either. I tried another suggestion I found; it didn't work either.
My fatherin-law had a saying when nothing worked as it should, or someone wouldn't work--"I guess it's hippoed" Even he didn't know the origin of the word, but, I guess that's what's wrong with this printer!

"That didn't work, either". As I stated. Google the Phrase "Windows print spooler". There are lots of hits, you tried one.
