No masters or slaves detected anymore!!

I was trying to install a second CD-Rom but I didn't have all the right cables so I plugged everything back in as it was. Now my primary master, primary slave, secondary master and secondary slave is not detected! what could be causing this issue?

When I start my computer it says "Disk Boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"

a) Have a look in the bios and check the boot device order.
If cd and/or floppy before hdd, have you left a non-bootable media in one of these units?

b) you may have wrongly connected your c: drive such that it is no the longer primary master. Try booting from a floppy and see which drive letters are available and what devices they are.

c) any possibility the ide cable is upside down (can happen on hdd's as well as floppys).

d) does C: led illuminate when attempting to boot?

Good Luck - Keep us posted?

The weird thing is that I did not the IDE cables to the harddrive. I only touched the CD-ROM and the floppy. Can putting one of the one incorrectly make the Harddrive not respond?

I had the IDE cable in backwards for my CD-ROM. All is good again :)

Thank you for your post.
