Ok i take it your just using this new drive and not both the new and old at the same time? ok first of all make sure the jumper settings on your new drive is set to master then try again if that doesnt work perhaps you need to update the bios to accept a larger hard drive, you really need to put more details down

Sorry For such a bleak post on my part. I have the Jumper set to master and the thing is my Hard drive was working perfect for about 2 weeks. As of right now im only trying to use the 1 new Hard drive. My Primary Mas. on my bios screen is set to Auto, so I have no idea whats wrong. But im not that great with Computer Repair. Any new help?

Hi

I would suggest strongly, visit Maxtors website and download Powermax. It will create a floppy that will boot up a diagnostic program. If there is an error it will generate a code that can be used on a claim form for a replacemant.

:(. Still no good. I can connect 2 old Hard drives; 1 as a primary other as slave, and it works fine. But if i use my new 40 GB hd as a slave or Primary its a no go. Any MORE help that anyone can give?
