Comment: i'm having trouble with my Presario V2000 notebook. The keyboard will randomly stop working for a brief period of time. I can sometimes go for 10 minutes typing fine and then the keyboard will fail for 20 seconds and then begin to work again. Whatever key I am pressing at the time the keyboard hangs is spammed. I have tried taking the connection apart and cleaning it and putting it back together but the problem is still there. I believe the laptop works with an external keyboard so i dont think it could be a software issue? Also, I have the same problem in both linux and windows (i installed linux thinking the OS was at fault) Any ideas what this could be?

Reply: (edit)After 3 years, I am having an issue with my keyboard too. It acts as if the home key is randomly pressed every 3 seconds or so. I went out and ordered a replacement keyboard from the HP site for $32 shipped. I'm only betting that it will fix the issue - OS reloads, drivers, cleaning, resetting didn't help - but I figure for the price, its worth it.
