Specs: Windows XP pro
short and sweet....I ran this computer for 5 yrs. no problems, shut it down normaly and unpluged everything. It then sat for 1 1/2 yrs.
I went to set it up and no pwr what so ever no fans nothing. I then took it apart down to mobo and ram, installed new CMOS battery and all the fans fired up. Had old CMOS battery checked and it was more than dead. Thought I was back in bussines and put it all back together, and no boot or beep codes.
Tore it all down again this time all the way down to the mother board out of case and reset the CPU , re-installed the MOBO and ram as well as the primary drive. Again nothing, all fans run but no beeps or boot.

Again nothing out of the ordinary happend to this computer except for the fact that its was shut down and unpluged for over a year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

There should be a jumper on the MB that will clear all CMOS settings. Follow the instructions and see if doing that procedure corrects the problem. Most of the time you set the jumper, then turn on the box. If it POSTs, then turn off the box and put the jumper back into the correct setting. Then go back into your BIOS settings and set up everything.
