Hi to all. I'm repairing a Powerbook G4. The 80GB original HDD is dead. I want to buy a new HDD, I know that the Seagate Momentus Series will work on a G4.
I was going to maybe buy an 160GB or 250GB drive, but I don't know the BIOS drive size limit.
How can I found out the HDD size limit of the notebook?

Without looking it up I would guess the BIOS is 28bit. That would limit drive size to 120GB. I am basing that conclusion on the original drive size. Current BIOSes are 48bit, allowing for any currently manufactured drive capacity.
Look at the link below for more info on 48bit LBA compliance.

Dunno why I think this but, you may not have that exact issue. For some reason I think that the way the G4 is built doesn't have that limit. I don't know where now I read that.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

Oh crap, I didn't even realize that the computer is an Apple product. I just looked at the HD size.
I don't have a clue if the same rules apply or not.
I suggest you try emailing Apple or browse their site or forums. The same issue may still apply because the MBoard/BIOS people didn't realize how fast the drive sizes were increasing and got caught short.
