I have a computer purchased in Europe and want to use here in the states. My power supply indicates that the AC input can range from 115-230v. Can I simply change the electrical cord from the power supply to the wall socket? Or do I need a different power supply?

Power supply should work fine. Look on the power supply for a tiny switch. It should currently be set to 230V if it came from Europe. Slide it to the 115V setting and it will work.

Just MAKE SURE that the switch on the back is set to 110 (or 115 or 120, they are all the same) and it should work.
You will just need the proper plug or adapter to plug it into a North American outlet.
