I'm pretty sure this is the power suppply, but not 100%. Tell me if you've run across this situation; recently, when the computer is cold (sat for about 24 hrs) I can't get that POST beep during boot, so the computer never fully boots, it does power up though, fans come on, everythings spinning. First thing I did was replaced the CMOS Battery. Now, where I stand; I have to switch the power switch on the back of the powersupply to off, then back on again, then boot, in order to get my system to boot fully. So I'm thinking it's the power supply; it's a 250w cheapie about 3 years old now. I run minimal components. What do you think?

I think you have answered your own question.
Aim for a PSU of at least 350watt, more will be better for future upgrades - and also you should be looking for at least 18amps on the +12volt rail.

AMD Athlon 64 FX-55
WinXP Pro. WinXP Pro x64
Nvidia:6800GT
Dane Electronic Pro. Dual 1024MB 400MHz RAM
Tagan 480Watt PSU: 28Amps on +12volt rail.

Thanks for your reply QS. I thought I was close. I have been running this computer like this for about 5 years and this current 250 PS is the second one I've put in. I got another 250 ready to go I bought a while back. We'll see how it goes, if it's something else besides the PS, I'll update so folks know what the problem was.
