I just bought a new case and power supply for a system I'm about to build. The power supply I bought is a Aspire model # ATX-AS500W. My question may be a dumb one but I'm not sure. I don't yet have a motherboard/cpu but I wanted to power up the fans and see the lights I have in the case. When I turned on the power supply nothing happened. I swapped out the power supply with a 350Watt one that I have now and still nothing. My question is will the fans and the lights work w/o a mother board installed? Or do I have 4 bad fans and a bad light?

Ok, you dont have the PS plugged into a mobo yet.
the PS (power supply) wont work.......

unless you jumper the green wire on the connector that goes to mobo to any of the neighboring black wires.

a paperclip will do.
I would not suugest it unless yer somewhat familiar w/ electronics and such.
its a pretty simple task thou.
you have a 500 Watt PS, I would mot worry about power requirements, thats pretty heafty!
