Comment: Respected members When i try to stand-by pc,hard disk cdrom shut downs and pc light starts blinking, but smps ie power supply wont shut down.I have seen, in general smps shuts down and when comp is brought out of stand by it starts again. Any suggestions? Thanks Nilesh

Reply: (edit)The power supply is not meant to shut down in standby, just use less power. In Standby the memory is still running and the CPU is ticking over. That requires power. If you want the power supply to shut down completley you need to go into Hibernate. Stuart
